- PLEA TO FOREST MANOR MOTORISTS RE: SCHOOL BUS STOPS IN FOREST MANOR

Recently several witnesses have found motorists violating Virginia safety law, especially in and around the vicinity of Forest Manor and Still Creek intersection, by moving around buses with flashing stop/safety signals. Please make sure you are not one of them.

A gentle reminder from the Virginia DMV’s website about “School Bus Stop Law for Motorists:” http://www.dmv.state.va.us/webdoc/safety/programs/schoolbus/index.asp

- "When approaching a school bus with flashing signals or flashing signals and an extended stop sign on a public or private road, you must stop and remain stopped until all children are clear of the roadway and the bus moves again (Virginia Driver's Manual)."

- "You must also stop if the bus is loading or unloading children and the signal devices are not functioning properly (Virginia Driver's Manual)."

Witnesses are asked to please record license plates of violators for reporting to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
